i didn´t know where elso to post it, but i think it´s ok if i put it in here.

Now, where i got all those connections (and partly friendships) to the functionaries on german side, i think it´s time to take the next step, namely the one over the border.
And therefor i´d need some help and tips. For example: i couldn´t find a not-german radiostation in my region yet, that has "flitsers" in their traffic-news. So does anybody know, which radiostation i should listen to, if i want to find (and socialise to) the maasbracht-policemen? I already had met the famous VW Transporter on the A76 near Heerlen and wanted to go for more since that day. But that never happend.
So any further tips, where i can get information?

There are some radio stations that give you the radartraps info, but I know out of experience the signal in that area can be pretty lousy. Q music, Radio 538, and BNR provide this info

There is one radio station in Limburg that people can call when they see a radar. It is called Falcon Radio and you can find them on 94.3FM. The only problem for you maybe is that they only speak Dutch and they call in the radar traps between the songs, so you really need to now what to listen to.
Also look at this topic, it has some regular spots in Limburg

You can however receive Q-music BE. Regulary they also have blitzers just accross the border in Belgium further down the E40/A76.

Cool univ (RWTH) by the way. Studied a semester there at Informatik.

Perhaps Omroep Limburg (L1) has blitzer info, but that station must definitely be boring to listen to.

You can save the time to listen to radio stations to only go to their websites.

The real problems were already mentioned. I don´t think my Dutch is good enough to understand what´s important (and what´s not) in time - otherwise i wouldn´t use English right now ( ) - and the costs of looking on every radio-traffic-website are far to expensive for me. German provider in the Netherlands,... no chance to keep that cheap.

But btw, there seems to be no further pictured series within the maasbracht-region on flitsservice. In fact, i just noticed my own. Did i get that right?
So maybe i just discovered a breach to fill - even interesting for your project. Would there any interest in uploading my pictures on your side too?

some random tips:

about radio: http://www.l1.nl in the morning between 7.30 and 8.00 there used to be a flitsers-item. I haven't listened to l1 for years now so...

along the a76 at least once a week you can find a radartrap at "hectometerpaal (hmp)" or hectometerpole 19,8 just before where you, when driving from aachen to geleen, can switch to the a79; just before where you took your "bild 1". This radartrap is very often present on sunday, just check the 'flitsers & files" tab to the upper left, if you didn't do this already.

along the a76 other places where radartraps used to be set up are hmp 23,8 22,3 17,4 around 13,0 6,3 4,5 1,0 and especially 10,7 or 11,0

along the a79 there are hmp 14,4 (quite often) and 12,5 10,3 8,1 5,1

along the a2 there are radartraps right at the belgian border which is around hmp 274,? or something, at 268,1 approximately, around Maastricht Aachen Airport (248,8 or something), and at the Shell station at 235,?

then there are the vht's= verkeershandhavingsteams

which patrol the local and provincial roads, the non-Autobahn routes to say it easily.
there used to be a lot of radartraps in Lemiers, but I haven't heard about it for years.
In Heerlen there is the John F. Kennedylaan where a couple times a month local policemen use laserpistols for speedmeasuring and sometimes radar equipped cars.
for these cars you have to check the "kentekenlijst" up above under "regio" and "Limburg-Zuid"
there used to be a green opel astra, nine years old, identified by 84-HK-SP on this list, apparently not anymore; however a couple of months ago I saw this car still in action, it used to be seen quite often around Heerlen.

@ superkoerier: the silver car isn´t used for that any longer And i also didn´t hear about a controle on the "Vaalser Straße" for years. You have to watch out for a dark-blue Opel Kombi (http://www.radarfalle.de/bilder/galerie ... 7280_4.jpg) doing the VR6F-Job in Aken by now. Here in action on the "Trierer Straße" in Aken-Forst.

But the VW Golf definetly is one of my new targets!

And just an idea of mine: is there something that we call "Tag der offenen Tür". I found the translated version ´Politiedag´ for the word i´m looking for. Sadly i don´t find anything like that on every politie-webpage that i was on. If i knew about a date near Aken, for example in Maastricht, i would definetly go there, as there might be equipment (Laser, Radar, civil cars) of interest

And keyword "number plates", here (hopefully) one of the last questions:
what about publishing the number plates? As you see i didn´t now how to handle it that time and used pixelated images without that 85-BX-ZN, that is obviously known by everyone
Is there any possibility that i might have problems with Dutch policemen afterwards or is it explicit legal behaviour in NL too? Because that none of you garbles the number plates doesn´t automaticly mean, that they can´t do anything against it, if they want(ed) to

You can always get in trouble with policemen while taking pictures. You might already have noticed that they are sometimes not the brightest lights on the planet.

But as long as you don't prevent the policeman* to do his/her work there is nothing where they can prevent you from taking pictures. Also potrait-right does not apply since they do public services and at Flitsservice the photos are not published in a harmful/ insulting context. That's also why you need to blur the faces and it is always nice to let him/her know that you are going to take pictures. But still.. if they don't want you to do it, they cannot prevent you from doing it.

* = actually, most of the ones at speedtraps, are not real policemen, they wear only an uniform that looks like the one of a cop. Basically they are cops at sewer level (also named: controleur).

Would be nice if you would send your pictures to us as well, short story to reportages@flitsservice.nl. English is not a problem for us.

But related to the mail i wrote (19.11.) to reportages@flitsservice.nl, there was no further response. The first mail was somehow sent without any attachment, but bang on time i got an auto-reply. The second mail, including the pictures this time, was sent too, but without auto-reply or human reaction.
So does anybody know how long it takes to be (re-)contacted at an average? I´m just waiting for anything to happen

Ok, even though i had no time at all, (thanks to the link) i got the one on the Hamstraat in Kerkrade too
It was this Mitsubishi, but with different flash-lights, the typical dark IR-flashes now.

Maybe i´ll post this one too, so the platform has an update of all used cars. Will depend to what you think of my first series, that will be online within the next days

Of course!

I dont´t do this pictured series just because I generally dislike what´s going on there, it´s more that I´m personally and professionally linked to that topic. That means, that my hobby is simultaneous sort of job-oriented (and the other way round).
So whenever i see a control - anywhere - anytime - i apply to the police and try to get the best possible pictures. That´s why I´m not afraid to address the officials any more, I simply got used to it. And in 99% of all cases it works. Bad, respectively "scared", passer-by-phots are not my business

It just seems that "you" have a different style to report in. For example that there is that many kilometrage included in the pictures. The typical german focus (means not only mine) somehow is to facilitate the drivers arrival to the place of speed-controle and show it in a context (near a Kindergarten?, school?, nursing home?, etc.). Therefor i nearly dont´do "angular" photos, but keeping the viewing angle of the driver. The focus is on the appearance of the street, not on the monitoring car.
But as most of the Dutch controles seems to be anywhere "in the boonies", the kilometrage is quite a good additive. I´ll include this in the next reportage (Ingber near Gulpen), which I will sent in tonight...
