Which RDs can detect the Traffipatrol XR ?

For the moment, I know V1, Escort X50e and Bel 550 and RX65e can detect it.

We are specially interested in the new Belscort models (STi/R, 9500 series) and the EU RDs like Quintezz, Snooper, Bel 966, Bel 975/e, Stinger DSi etc.

Any others in the list of detection ?

Any info about TS2 and RD detection ? Any difficulties in detecting this particular Laser gun ?

Traffipatrol XR is a lasergun.

Yeap, it's a laser gun, like TS2.

A RD should detect it when directly hit. But, it's not the truth. So, we would like to know which RDs can detect XR and which can't.

Same thing with TS2, but I don't think there's a big problem with it since it's not that high in pps.

depending on the type of RD if it can "detect" a lasergun. Sometimes it's built in, other RD's have additional hardware for Lasergun detection.

Stinger DSi now has additional hardware for detection. For sure it can determine if a Traffipatrol XR is used

If it's in the database, the DSI should recognize these laserguns. But do you know if these guns are in the database of the DSI?

Laserguns operate on 904nm. Almost every RD has a sensor which can detect this frequency. In the Netherlands the Traffipatrol isn't used. Personally i don't see the benefit of detecting laser with an RD, because they don't jam and your speed will be measured. Except for the Stinger DSI, which is a RD with optional laser jamming.
In the Netherlands people only drive with RD's like the Bel 975, STI-R, 966/966EVO, Stinger Ventura/Delta (which is the same as the Target 966) and Stinger DSI because RD's are illegal here and these are the remote models which can be placed out of sight.

I had the chance to test 3 RDs with a Laser Tester, simulating the pulse rate of various Laser Guns / Lidars used around the world.

My intention was to check, which guns were detected by these 3 RDs and to solve the mysterh about Bel 550 (many drivers use it in Greece), since we didn't know how it responds to the new Lidars, LTi Truspeed EU and Robot Traffipatrol XR.

First, I tested Snooper S5R which is a replica of the original model (No Dot Matrix for lower price). Second, I tested a Radioshack 22-1697 which was popular in Greece and USA a few years ago (many were sold by Radioshack in Greece for 100 euros). Third, I tested Bel 550 (v 5.1), a highly used RD in Greece and the rest of Europe, the last years.

The results were normal. No RD detected the new devices (Truspeed EU, Traffipatrol XR and NJL SCS-102) and the two cheep RDs didn't succeed in detecting Laser Atlanta in stealth mode.

Laser Interceptor detects AND jams this type of laser gun. Just detecting is useless for most laser encounters. Your RD might provide a nice "I have just been lasered" indication. "Hit the brakes, and turn around" might be the only working strategy in this case.
