Hello,

I live in the netherlands, however this winter i will be making a trip from holland all the way to turkey for my internship.

I will be traveling through the following countries:

The Netherlands
Germany
Austria
Slovenia
Croatia
Serbia
Macedonia
Greece
Turkey

Now my question is, in which of these countries do you not get a fine sent home when caught on radar.

I know for a fact that when you get caught on radar in belgium or france that they have agreements so they send you the fine. But what about the other countries? Does anyone know?

Thanks,

There's a difference between having an agreement and sending a fine. You don't need to worry about fixed radar traps in France; they will not forward the fine to the Netherlands (even though they do have an agreement). Only when you're actually pulled over by the police, you'll have to pay the fine.

Germany will send the fine to the Netherlands, and Dutch police might actually come to your door to identify you as the driver.

I don't know about the other countries.

Germany = does send fines to Netherlands. With a nice picture of your face on it :[

Austria = through the years we had fines with radar camera's, but never had a fine home, i don't think they send fines to Netherlands.

Slovenia = never seen radar in this country.

Croatia = i heard from a friend they have "civil police cars" just like in Holland, you don't see that it's the police, friend was caught with 207 km/h, they said just give us bribe money we go. Never seen radars here.

Serbia = On the long yougoslavian straight (E70), especially in the night, they laser under bridges in the shade, so you don't see them! At day you can see them from one million miles, but never seen laser at day.

Macedonia = never seen speed camera's, but you can't drive fast in this country, you drive through small towns so the speed has to be low, you don't get a chance to overtake (to many bends).

Greece = you have 1 or 2 speedcamera's on your route, but i don't know if they send it to Holland, they are not hidden so you can drive fast.

Turkey = no speed camera's, they will laser you, pull you over after one or two kilometers and will write you down a fine. You pay this fine at the local "Maliye" or at the border.

So conclusion get yourself a laser pro park or other laser jammer...laserguns are much more dangerous for your driving license then radar.

You will meet also many laser traps(they will stop you and give you the fine and you may have to pay instantly) and in some of these countries they will shoot you with Traffipatrol XR so be careful what laser jammer you will use...
